BLITZ TURBO - The amazing backup system for the ST has been improved!
=====================================================================
*****************************************************************************
* *
* IMPORTANT..... *
* *
* *
* BLITZ TURBO is currently the fastest backup system available for the *
* Atari ST and we hope that it will prove to be useful for making backups *
* of software that you do not want to lose. *
* HOWEVER, you should be aware that BLITZ TURBO is sold solely for this *
* purpose. *
* *
* IT IS ILLEGAL to duplicate software protected under copyright. *
* *
*****************************************************************************
BLITZ TURBO now features:
Single sided backup in as little as 20 Seconds!
Double sided backup in as little as 40 seconds!
Up to 89 track backup for high-capacity disks
Auto detect for number of tracks to backup (if required)
Auto detect for number of sides to backup (if required)
Instructions
============
1. Using the lead.
The 25 pin plug goes into the PRINTER port on the ST.
The MALE disk drive plug goes into the DISK DRIVE port on the ST
The external disk drive then plugs into the FEMALE connector on the
BLITZ lead (instead of plugging into the ST)
2. Using the software
BLITZ TURBO comes as a desk accessory or a program. They are
identical in operation. Either way the software needs a copy of the
resource file "BL_TURBO.RSC" in the same directory as the program
(or accessory).
The buttons available are now dealt with:
BACKUP TRACKS tells BLITZ TURBO how many tracks to backup. If AUTO is
highlighted then this will be decided automatically.
BACKUP SIDES tells BLITZ TURBO how many sides the source disk has. Once
again, if AUTO is selected this will be decided automatically.
BACKUP TURBO will start to back up your disk in TURBO mode. The SOURCE
disk should be in drive A and the DESTINATION disk in your external
disk drive. TURBO mode is very fast - but is best used with disks
that possess reasonably standard formats. If you have used a really
strange format - or you have problems backing up a disk then you
should use BACKUP NORMAL.
3. Hints & tips
Pressing ESCAPE during a backup operation will abort that backup.
While the BLITZ lead is connected you will not be able to use your
second disk drive in a normal way (in fact the computer will not even
realise that a second drive is connected). When you have finished
using BLITZ you should disconnect the lead and reconnect your drive.
BLITZ TURBO is currently the fastest backup system available for the
Atari ST and we hope that it will prove to be useful for making
backups of software that you do not want to lose. HOWEVER, you
should be aware that BLITZ TURBO is sold solely for this purpose and
that it is ILLEGAL to duplicate software protected under copyright.
It is not advisable to backup with Blitz a disk that is itself a
Blitz backup, as this may lead to a deteriation in the quality of
data on the disk.
